Republicans have shown us who they are. No surprises there, but Democrats also share responsibility for the current state of the country. Alan Lichtman says it best: “Republicans have no principles; Democrats have no spine”.

Let’s go back to 2016. The country was starving for a shakeup. People didn’t trust the system, didn’t feel heard, and were done with politics as usual. Bernie Sanders was packing stadiums. Energy was high. People were ready for real change. But what did the Democratic establishment do? They smothered the flame.

And do I know for sure that Bernie would’ve won? No. Do I think he could’ve? Honestly, maybe. I think Hillary also had a real shot. If they had gone head-to-head in a fair fight, we might’ve seen a different outcome. But we’ll never know. And that’s the part that still stings.

The Democratic Party steamrolled Bernie, and in doing so, turned away a movement. Many voters would’ve shown up for Hillary if they felt Bernie had lost fair and square. Instead, they walked away. Not because they were sore losers, but because they saw the game was rigged. And some of you still haven’t learned that lesson. You still roll your eyes at Bernie supporters, still mock the movement, still smirk when his name comes up. And I won’t name names, but it pisses me off, especially when it comes from people I otherwise respect. Truth is if those same ideas were coming from someone 20 or 30 years younger, that candidate would be unstoppable. The country is more aligned with Bernie’s vision than the party wants to admit—and that disconnect is part of the damn problem.

Delegates were already pledging to Hillary Clinton before the primaries were over. Superdelegates made it clear they didn’t care what the people wanted. The DNC made sure the machine was greased for their chosen candidate, and they shut the door on a grassroots movement that could have redefined the party and the country.

And you know what that did? It didn’t just kill momentum, it fractured trust. That betrayal pushed people away. Some sat out. Some turned to Trump, not because they believed in him, but because they wanted to throw a grenade at the system. And it worked.

Democrats have held power multiple times over the last few decades. And what do we have to show for it?

  • Sky-high rent
  • A generation locked out of homeownership
  • Wages that haven’t kept up with inflation
  • Parents working two jobs and still drowning in bills
  • And a Democratic Party that still hesitates to fight like hell when it matters most

Democrats have held power, but often governed like they were afraid to use it. Too much compromise. Too much decorum. Not enough fight.

The Party Of The Working Class Should Always Govern With An Unapologetic Stand For The Working Class.

Instead, we got “bipartisanship” with a party that literally tried to overturn an election. We got watered-down bills, performative speeches, and policies that felt more like stopgaps than solutions. We got scared leadership when we needed revolution.

And all the while, propaganda spread like wildfire. Because we’ve let media consolidation happen. We’ve let Fox News rot people’s brains without consequences. And people are too exhausted, too overwhelmed, and too busy surviving to fact-check the bullshit being funneled into their living rooms.

Let’s make something clear: Democrats are the better choice. That’s not even a question. But “better” doesn’t mean “good enough.” And it damn sure doesn’t mean “innocent.”

We need Democrats who don’t just want to govern—we need ones who want to fight. Fight for the people. Fight for the truth. Fight for the kind of country that’s slipping through our fingers while they sit back trying to play nice with fascists.

So to the Democrats who still think playing the middle will save us: Bring Your Bitch Ass To The Stage.

We’ve got some things to discuss.
